1. The Quintessence of Tonkin Show
Learning about Northern culture has never been easier. The quintessence and essence of the ancient people are encapsulated in the entire poetic and lively Quintessence of the Tonkin Show. The Quintessence of Tonkin Show is the first real-life stage in Vietnam with two Guinness Vietnam records for "The show with the biggest water stage in Vietnam '' and “The show with the largest number of peasant actors in Vietnam ''. In addition, the Quintessence of Tonkin was also voted by CNN as a "must-see for anyone visiting Hanoi '' show. The show is performed on a water stage of 4,300 m2, leaning against the Thay Pagoda mountain, Hanoi. The stage is designed with many special effects, combined with sound, light and dance, creating a lively and attractive artistic space. The six parts Quintessence of Tonkin Show are six journeys, six related points, showing comprehensively the cultural beauty and artistic essence of the northern delta region.
🔹 Thi ca (Poetry): Expressing the soul and emotion of the Vietnamese people through the melodies of folk songs, ca tru, cheo, tuong… through the peaceful and rustic scenery of the Vietnamese countryside.
Bringing us back to the simple and ordinary moments of an ancient Northern region: with the bamboo hedges of the village, with the lullaby of the mother. The first scene opens up a space of the Vietnamese countryside that is very gentle and intimate. The image of the young girls by the lotus pond, the handsome boys teasing and the witty banter between the boys and girls of the youth make the opening lively and distinctive. The life of the villagers is also closely associated with the bustling labor together, which is shown through the image of the fishermen full of enthusiasm on the river. The northern lullaby is a beautiful feature that cannot be missed in folk culture and is exploited through the image of the hardworking mother and the clear lullaby by the cradle. This is also the scene that closes part 1 of the show.
🔹 Coi Phat (Buddha Land): This scene shows the respect of the Vietnamese people for Buddhism, as well as the beautiful cultural and spiritual features of the Northern Delta region. This scene focuses on the Zen master Tu Dao Hanh - the founder of Thay Pagoda. The scene with the mystical appearance of the venerable Zen master in the middle of a sparkling lotus garden will leave a lasting impression on the viewers. The end of the scene is the image of the dragonflies dancing, but it is expressed by the led and laser effects along with the music that is remade based on the folk song Quan ho “Se chi luon kim” smoothly.
🔹 Hoai co (Nostalgia): “Hoai co” is the image of the ancient Imperial Citadel of Thang Long; telling about the traditional cultural features of the northern delta region, from customs and practices, handicrafts, to traditional festivals. With the opening scene being the image of the candidates packing their tents and going to the exam. The tradition of filial piety, literary and martial arts training is shown under the heroic music and the combination of modern lighting. This is the scene that helps the viewers understand more about the history and the proud traditions of the Vietnamese nation.
🔹 Nhac hoa (Music): Displaying the essence of folk art with different folk instruments and dance numbers, demonstrating the talent and dexterity of the Vietnamese people. The distinctive music along with the elegant dances, offering the moments of delight for the audience. Inspired by the poem "To Nu" by the female poet Ho Xuan Huong, on the dark lake surface, four "To Nu" appear faintly. This scene uses 3D Mapping effect to create the most realistic image on the lake surface, which is also the stage of the show. Four girls perform different types of traditional Vietnamese musical instruments, including: Flute, pipa, erhu and moon guitar. This is the most beautiful scene when the fairies rush to the stage and perform graceful dances on the water, along with depicting the essence of the Northern folk painting village.
🔹 An vui (Happiness): This scene illustrates the plain and joyful life of the Vietnamese people; the everyday activities of the farmers: cultivating the land, sprinkling water… The belief in worshiping the Mother Goddess of the Third Realm and the Mother Goddess Religion, along with the scene of going to the fields of the Vietnamese farmers. Associated with the rice civilization is the image of the farmers working together in the fields. The skillful hands harvesting a bumper crop. All will be fully recreated from sound to image on the stage of Quintessence of the Tonkin. The scene is the most realistic depiction of the life of the farmers with muddy hands and feet that we often encounter in the folk songs of our ancestors.
🔹 Ngay hoi (Festival): Recreating the image of the homeland festival with the melodies of the folk songs quan ho, the folk games, the procession of Song Loan, Song Dinh - the traditional festivals of the northern delta region, showing the spirit of solidarity and attachment of the people.

2. Hoi An Memories Show (Hoi An Ancient Town)
The show Memories of Hoi An is an outdoor live art performance about the history, culture, and artistic essence of Hoi An. Taking the idea of the traditional Vietnamese ao dai as the main language, combined with the modern stage technique, Memories of Hoi An has taken the viewers back to the 16th-17th century Hoi An to witness the ups and downs of the town throughout 400 years of history - where the culture intersects, connecting Vietnam to the legendary silk road on the sea.
A long and fascinating story takes the viewers back in time to immerse themselves in the artistic essence. Memories of Hoi An preserves the stories of time, where there is the wedding of Princess Huyen Tran with the King of Champa for the great cause, there is the image of the faithful, beautiful Hoi An girl, there is a Faifo international port that is the most prosperous in Southeast Asia, and there is a Hoi An today - graceful, quiet and unique. The live scene of Memories of Hoi An is told by many artistic languages such as: Dance, Light, Sound, Music combined with props and modern technology to create 5 spectacular, vivid and emotional performances.
🔹 Sinh Menh (Life): The theme of “Sinh Menh” brings a panoramic view of the customs and life of the people of Hoi An. Life originates from labor, building houses, fishing for seafood. Over time, the beauty in labor and daily life gradually becomes part of the songs, dances and culture of the ancient Hoi An people. The scene makes the visitors excited by the enthusiastic working spirit of the people: sawing wood to build houses, creating villages and establishing traditional crafts.
🔹 Đam cuoi (Wedding): Inspired by the wedding of Princess Huyen Tran and the King of Champa - The Wedding Scene has recalled a time of Champa culture in Hoi An. The audience will admire many splendid images from the bride procession, the costumes to the beautiful dances to welcome the bride and along with that the happiness when witnessing the magnificent wedding of King Che Man and Princess Huyen Tran. This is the most splendid and fairy-tale-like scene in the show Memories of Hoi An. Splendid, magnificent, sparkling but very realistic, making the audience feel like they are lost in the wedding in the ancient story
🔹Thuyen và Bien (Boat and Sea): Through the art of dance, the performance of Thuyen and Bien conveyed the message of longing between the people on shore and the people at sea. The sound and light effects helped the audience to feel the realistic content. A touching story that was not told by words; the performance brought out the emotion of the faithful and loyal girl who turned into stone by the dim lighthouse, waiting endlessly for her lover who never returned.
🔹 Ben Bo (Shore): Ben Bo not only shows the lively exchange of goods but also carries the meaning of Hoi An’s acceptance of many new cultures; it shows the development of Hoi An from a bustling port to a world cultural heritage. The performance is set in the international market of Hoi An, which integrates with the world to convey to the audience the busy and vibrant atmosphere of the most prosperous international port in Southeast Asia in the 16th - 19th centuries. Ben Bo is the main highlight of the live art program “Memories of Hoi An”. Ben Bo not only lets the audience see the glorious memories of Hoi An port but also really impresses them with the meticulous preparation of every detail from the character design, acting skills to the sound, light effects and the large number of actors
🔹 Ao Dai: Hoi An is a rare city that preserves almost intact the ancient values of hundreds of years ago despite many historical ups and downs. That makes Hoi An different and the people here have the right to be proud of their priceless values to their international friends. The finale for the show Memories of Hoi An will bring a performance of traditional Ao Dai through different historical stages in Hoi An, expressing the pride of the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people. In the modern sound and atmosphere, the girls ride bicycles along the light road, weaving through each corner of the old town as if taking the audience back to modern life, to a Hoi An ancient and quiet but no less dynamic and modern in its own way - gentle, light and delicate.

3. À Ố Show (Ho Chi Minh City)
À Ố Show is a blend of circus and contemporary dance with other art forms, combined with bamboo props on the background of 17 types of traditional and modern musical instruments. Watching À Ố Show , the audience will be immersed in the Vietnamese painting of contrast and harmony between the peaceful countryside and the bustling city, drawn by talented and passionate artists.
The sound ‘A’ means ‘village’ and ‘O’ reminds of ‘city’. This combination depicts the changes in human life, from the peaceful and rustic countryside to the busy and bustling city. ‘A!’, ‘O!’ are also the exclamations that the audience utter when watching the surprising and attractive performances in this show (Ah – Oh).
On the stage of À Ố Show, not only the life of a person is recreated but also the most unique images of Vietnamese culture are conveyed, from the peaceful countryside with grass, with the sound of frogs, insects, chickens, ducks, the activities of farming, fishing to the bustling city or the daily changes of the land where they were born and the impacts of the change on life. All the daily activities and unique images are vividly portrayed on the small stage, not only by the skillful acting of the actors but also by the ingenious and extremely delicate shaping of the props made from materials very familiar to the Vietnamese. One of the unique features of A O Show is that all the props are made from bamboo. Bamboo is a symbol of strength, stability and resilience of the Vietnamese. Bamboo has been associated with the life of the Vietnamese for thousands of years. The Vietnamese use bamboo to build fences, houses, fishing tools, … and it is an image that symbolizes the flexibility, will and aspiration of the Vietnamese.
With more than 60 minutes of enjoying À Ố Show , the audience can admire a classy and refined feast with many unforgettable emotional levels. Throughout the show, the movements of the actors are smooth and perfect with each other. All the skills of acting, dancing, martial arts, circus, acrobatics are skillfully and delicately blended, bringing a spectacular performance for the viewers.
